ILLINOIS CRAFT BEER WEEK

This highly anticipated festival returns this spring at the 2018 Illinois Craft Beer Week. Formerly known as the Chicago Craft Beer Week, this annual celebration now takes over the entire state and features hundreds of events in local bars and breweries from Chicago to Downstate Illinois.

CHICAGO BEARS 5K AT SOLDIER FIELD

Bears fans and runners will delight in the Chicago Bears 5K, held this June. The race ends on the historic Soldier Field, where children can participate in the Kids Dash. Participants over the age of 21 receive one free beer with their entry. Sign up for this one-of-a-kind experience.

GAY PRIDE PARADE

Top off a week of Chicago Pride excitement and fun at the annual Gay Pride Parade, held each June. This lively celebration begins at noon at Montrose Avenue and Broadway and ends in Lincoln Park. The streets are lined with as many as 700,000 people eager to join in on this celebration of equality.

CHICAGO SUMMERDANCE

Take part in the largest annual outdoor dancing series at the Chicago SummerDance festival. This free event transforms Grant Park into an urban dance space, featuring 48 live bands and DJs as well as dance lessons before the performances.

JOHN SINGER SARGENT AND CHICAGO'S GILDED AGE AT THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO

This summer at the Art Institute of Chicago, John Singer Sargent, a highly sought-after painter in the late 19th century, will be featured in a large exhibition featuring around 100 works from his collection. The exhibition examines Sargent's impressive range, artistic accomplishment, and Chicago's Gilded Age.

CHICAGO DUCKY DERBY AT THE CHICAGO RIVER

An iconic Chicago summer activity, the Chicago Ducky Derby returns once again to the Chicago River. This annual event is a fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Illinois and brings together thousands of spectators to watch as over 50,000 yellow rubber ducks race down the river towards the finish line. You can adopt your own rubber duck for just $5.
