About the Artists
Adam Thomas
Adam Thomas has shown in over 25 galleries and venues across the country. His paintings are in the permanent collections of several celebrities including a rock star, professional athlete, Broadway singers, famous chefs, and a few "Real Housewives." In the October 2011 edition of Traditional Home Magazine, his work was featured in an interior design from one of the top interior designers in the country. The way we see our surroundings changes through out the day. Mount Lemon in Tucson, Arizona actually appears purple in the evening. His new modern landscapes reflect the magic that light has on our planet, wanting people who view his art to feel like they are standing in front of a mountain at dusk or sitting on the edge of a lake first thing in the morning. Using a wax medium with oils, he paints nature with his pallet knife. The paint becomes thick and creamy almost like frosting. Building up the paintings on the wooden panels takes time, requiring each layer of oil and wax to dry before the next can be applied. Depending on how thick the painting becomes, it can result in weeks to complete. Adam’s work has also appeared in various TV programs including NBC’s “Chicago Fire,” HGTV’s “Dina’s Party,” two episodes of HGTV’s “Celebrities at Home,” Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of NJ” and “Tabatha’s Salon Takeover,” and STARZ “Boss.”
David Joseph
David Joseph is a Chicago based artist and curator. A balance between form, color and movement are the the main concerns of all of his work. An abstract painting has to follow all the same rules as realism to be successful. Although his work in no way resembles Vasily Kandinsky, his thoughts on composition have had a profound impact on work. While composing these paintings, his goal was to blend the realism of form and the abstraction of space, to evoke thoughts of things both familiar and alien.
